The Writer's Circle: Jason Clark - This is the Day
"Uncovering the Interplay of Faith and History"
Jason Clark is one of the most prolific writers I have had the privilege to subscribe to on Substack. His steadfastness in writing daily posts for THIS IS THE DAY becomes even more impressive when you consider his story.
In his own words -
“I've had migraines most of my life, but they got worse as I got older. I've had what they call chronic migraines (3-4 a week or 15 or more days per month) for almost 20 years now.”
I must say, that would stop most of us cold. Yet, Jason has continued to pursue his dreams. Early on, he owned a cafe, worked in Human Resources at a major University, and did freelance work on the side.
As he says, he did everything but what he knew God had called him to do - Write. Finally, in January 2024, he took the plunge and started THIS IS THE DAY.
Here is what he learned -
“I honestly didn't know if I could keep it up. I thought if I at least tried I could tell God, "Hey, I gave it a shot!" I didn't know I would enjoy it so much and enjoy the small community that has built up around it. I thought if I had 100 subscribers by the end of the year it would be a miracle. I guess I never give God enough credit! The truth is, I feel like I'm learning from it as much as anyone else is. It's been a lot of fun.”
I think all of us who subscribe to Jason’s daily posts will attest that he has, indeed, found his calling.
This Is The Day is interesting, informative, enlightening, and challenging. The subject matter of each post widely varies. It could be a biography, an event, or a place in history. But, it doesn’t stop with facts or anecdotes. Jason ties spiritual applications, admonitions, and prayers of encouragement to each story published.
It’s a complete history class rooted in faith and gauging by the subscriber responses, it has resonated with quite a few folks in the short time he has been here on Substack. I am glad that I have become a part of his “small community”.
If you love history and enjoy seeing how it interacts with faith, I cannot recommend This Is The Day by Jason Clark enough.
Check him out and give him a shout.
