The Writers Circle: Inaugural Post -Kevin Nash, Retired and Chasing the Writing Dream
A Weekly Highlight of Writers on My Blogroll
A couple of weeks ago, I posted Blogroll Please, How to Beat the Writer Drums - a “How to” piece about creating a blogroll similar to what you would see on a traditional blog. These would be a list of Substack writers we subscribe to and enjoy reading their posts each week - in addition to Recommendations.
This gave me an idea. Why not create a new series highlighting one writer from the Life UnCorked Blogroll each Friday?
I know Substack has its own method of promoting writers, but this will be a simple “peer-to-peer” review of fellow writers. Ones we know and enjoy following. Hopefully, highlighted writers will gain more traction in their visibility and following.
The Series will be called The Writer’s Circle. Each post will be a short weekly vignette of a writer on my blogroll. Formatting may change as I figure out improvements.
This inaugural post features who writes Morning Musings.
I subscribed to Kevin’s newsletter soon after he began writing on Substack.
What attracted me was his way of capturing the emotions of real life in an engaging, heart-warming, and humorous manner in his anecdotal stories. Stories that we can all relate to.
Take, for instance, The Winter of ‘45, a story about his grandparents and neighborly generosity when the times were tough. That was the way things used to be. That’s just what neighbors did. I felt as if I was right there listening to the conversation. It reminded me of stories my own grandparents would tell.
If you enjoy creative writing with a moral, then Morning Musings with Kevin Nash would make a great addition to your reading list.
