There’s So Much to …
There’s way too many Substack newsletters and a few other blogs that I love to read and not enough hours in the week.
Here are a few that have gained my attention for various reasons
Humor/Satire: Everyone needs to chill and laugh sometimes (more often than not).
Curtice Mang - Satire based on things in the news - Regardless of your political point of view, this is LOL funny stuff.
Situation Normal - A spotlight of humor focused on everyday life.
Life: Because there is so much more.
Never Retire: Living The Semi-Retired Life -A very unconventional approach to retirement - I’ve learned a lot.
Rocky Point - Good stories of life’s lessons from a grandpa’s perspective.
Billy Bumbo: Schizo Not Schizo - Perspective and Perseverance through very difficult times - Unbelievable story here … Worth your support
Political Commentary:
Meaning in History - Mark Wauck, a retired FBI agent writes Geo-political analysis and commentary
Richard Moore In-Depth - Richard is an investigative reporter focusing on US & Wisconsin political analysis
Unreported Truths - All things Pandemic by Alex Berenson, former NYT reporter and author of 13 novels and three non-fiction books. His latest book is Pademia.
Glenn Greenwald: Hot topics of the day. Greenwald is a journalist, former constitutional lawyer, and author of four New York Times bestselling books on politics and law.
Prophecy Commentary:
Tipping Point - If you are interested (I am) in commentary and analysis on end times topics.
There are many other newsletters centered around this particular topic if this is your cup of tea - Most are duplicative, but some are unique.
So Many to Choose From
There are so many others - Search any one of these topics and you will find a ton of interesting newsletters - some paid, some not.
Pick a few and support them with your mind and money.
So, the problem is when to find time to read all the ones I subscribe to. Do you have that problem?
I have been trying to write and publish four to five articles a week. This takes up most weekday mornings.
Afternoons are reserved for appointments, the obligatory maintenance of my 2.5 acre “gentleman’s farm” (like mounting up on my Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle 27 HP/60” zero-turn and “gittin’-r-done” - Oh yeah, baby), and whatever else the Silver Fox (affectionate term for my wife - because she is) asks me to do.
Particularly now that Spring has sprung and Summer is catching up at break-neck speed.
I try not to write on weekends as there are too many other things that take up our time (family, grandkids, Church, etc.).
Decision Time
So, I’ve made an Executive Decision as the absolute, unquestionable sole authority here at Life UnCorked (Oooh - that does sound so powerful, now) - Monday has been designated as the official -
Reading Catch-up and Rough Outline of Writing Topics Day
No writing allowed. Of course, this rule can be broken at any time since I am all-powerful in this operation.
Then there’s this - Yesterday, Substack announced they are opening up the opportunity to invest in the platform itself.
I am inclined to do so (pledged a modest $100), but I do have some concerns about where this may end up for writers.
We’ll see.
And What About You?
Do you have a wealth of wisdom in you that should be shared with the rest of us?
Now, back to today’s masterpiece of creative writing - Oh wait, this was it.
So, now there is a ton of grass to mow. I do think it’s Dixie Chopper time …
As always, Thanks for your support.
Until next time, friends …
I want a Dixie Chopper too!
